The Diacore Gaborone Marathon is the longest running marathon for charity dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people in Botswana. With over 5000 participants registered in 2014, the Marathon is fast gaining popularity with a target of crossing 7000 registrations in 2015.

The marathon is governed by the International Association of Athletics Federations and the Botswana Athletics Association. It is open to participants of ages 19 and upwards, and the race is a qualifier for the Comrades Marathon in Durban and Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, and the 2012 Olympic Marathon in London.
